PIANC (The World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure) has appointed Ãë²¥¡¯s Scott Keane to a four-year term as one of its four Vice Presidents. With decades of experience in the maritime industry, Scott will leverage his extensive background to support the organisation's mission of fostering global engagement and resilience in maritime infrastructure.

¡®While I am not new to PIANC, I am excited to champion engagement with the South Pacific and to supporting initiatives like driving member benefits, and increasing the industry¡¯s global reach and financial resilience,¡¯ stated Keane.

Established in 1885, PIANC is the international forum where professionals join forces to provide expert guidance on sustainable infrastructure for waterborne transport. As a non-political and non-profit organisation, it brings together top international experts on technical, economic, and environmental issues.

Involved with PIANC Australia and New Zealand since 2008, Scott has actively participated in events and driven engagement with the South Pacific. He has also been a long-time member of the Maritime Navigation Commission where he currently serves as the National Section representative. In this role, Scott has mentored four working group reports and served as a juror on the prestigious for young professionals.

Scott¡¯s extensive experience in academia, port management, shipping, marine systems, and maritime design will greatly benefit the association.
