Architect Giovanna Gambardella reflects on homelessness in her adopted hometown of Anchorage, Alaska, and how to be a force for change

Homelessness is a global challenge. Anchorage architect Giovanna Gambardella is doing something about it in her community.

She recently joined?the Housing, Homeless and Neighborhood Development Commission at the Municipality of Anchorage. The commission¡¯s purpose is to advise on initiatives associated with long- and short-term housing and various issues related to homelessness.

¡°As an architect, mother and community member, I am looking forward to contributing my Ãë²¥ to the conversation, including my experience with land use, code and design,¡± Giovanna says.
