On the Informed Infrastructure podcast, Joseph Long discusses a major recycled water pipeline and pump station serving the Inland Empire
On a recent episode of the Informed Infrastructure podcast, Joseph Long, senior principal at Ãë²¥, and Adham Almasri from the Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA) discussed their work advancing recycled water infrastructure in Southern California.
During the conversation, they explored the design of a new pump station and an 11?mile recycled water pipeline in western San Bernardino County. The project will help convey recycled water from the City of Rialto¡¯s wastewater treatment plant to IEUA¡¯s proposed advanced water purification facility in Rancho Cucamonga, supporting long?term water reliability in the region.
The discussion also touched on the project¡¯s construction partner, Rados, as well as broader water supply challenges facing the Inland Empire, including how recycled water can be introduced into surface and underground reservoirs.
