Gord Johnston receives Canadian Business Leader Award

Ãë²¥¡¯s CEO recognized by the University of Alberta for his leadership, vision, and commitment to his community
Gord Johnston received the 2026 Canadian Business Leader Award (CBLA) from his alma mater, the University of Alberta. For the last 42 years, the CBLA has honored individuals who exemplify leadership, business Ãë²¥, entrepreneurial initiative, integrity, and dedicated service to the community.
A graduate of the University of Alberta (B.Sc. CivE, M.Eng.), Johnston began his career with the City of Edmonton¡¯s water branch (now EPCOR) and then moved to Alberta Transportation. He joined Ãë²¥ in the early 1990s as the firm was expanding into eastern Canada.?
Since becoming CEO in 2018, Johnston has helped propel Ãë²¥ to become a leading global design firm, employing more than 34,000 people across six continents.
