Katie¡¯s father was an operator in a water treatment plant. She saw the hard work and commitment that operators give to the water industry¡ªand approaches every project and client meeting with the operator¡¯s perspective in mind. Her belief that everyone deserves safe, reliable drinking water motivates her. As a regional sector lead for water treatment, Katie¡¯s responsibilities include keeping current with treatment technology advances, Safe Drinking Water Act regulations, and trends in the drinking water treatment industry. Working as a project technical leader on many drinking water projects, she manages a team of engineers and mentors younger engineers to help them grow in their professional development.
A long-time Water For People (WFP) volunteer, Katie¡¯s served as WFP committee chair in multiple states, organizing dozens of fundraising events so that people across the globe have access to clean drinking water. She¡¯s spent her vacation time traveling to India for a WFP volunteer trip to assist in-country staff with gathering critical data.
On weekends, Katie spends time with her husband and small daughter getting outdoors as much as possible. She admits that she¡¯s a habitual starter of new hobbies such as knitting, sewing, sourdough bread baking, crocheting¡ªmost of which don¡¯t stick, but she fancies herself an amateur ¡°maker of things.¡±?
