As a principal and technical area lead for our Ecology team, Sharon manages ecological projects for natural and industrial systems with a focus on nature-based solutions. She loves solving complex ecological problems and helping clients meet their environmental regulatory requirements.
Sharon¡¯s Ãë²¥ spans coastal, wetland, forest, landscape, stable isotope ecology, and statistical analyses across a range of tropical and temperate ecosystems. In recent years, she¡¯s helped investigate changes in ecosystems from anthropogenic hydrological management and energy facilities. She¡¯s also investigated eco-physiological and hydrologic responses of sea level rise on coastal marsh and forest ecosystems, mangrove ecology, invasive species resilience and control, moss and lichen responses to nutrient enrichment, and algal blooms and microbial community management in natural habitats and industrial wastewater systems. Her long-term research and monitoring work supporting restoration in the Florida Everglades has resulted in more than 20 peer-reviewed publications.
When she isn¡¯t solving complex ecological problems, Sharon enjoys spending time with her husband and son outdoors.
