An environmental and resource economist with over 20 years of experience, Bruce applies economic concepts to practical environmental management and sustainability at the national international level, predominantly in the water sector. He leads our work on environmental economics and natural capital and has extensive experience in natural and social capital accounting.
Bruce co-developed a tool for assessing the multiple benefits of blue-green infrastructure. He is currently working on a range of projects including value frameworks, multi-capitals accounting, and evaluating the costs and benefits of reducing storm overflows.
In a previous role, Bruce was a lead policy adviser on a range of environmental issues in the water industry, including climate change, water resources management, catchment management, and sustainable development. He has also worked as an environmental economist at the Environment Agency. He has a doctorate and master¡¯s in environmental economics from the University of East Anglia. He is a chartered environmentalist with the Society for the Environment and a member of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists.
