With both a master¡¯s and bachelor¡¯s in civil engineering, Juan specializes in geotechnical engineering and contributes to projects related to dams and hydropower. These include new developments and the rehabilitation or expansion of existing infrastructure.
Juan is passionate about applying geotechnical engineering to the water and energy sectors, driven by the industry's potential to address global challenges such as water supply, renewable energy, and sustainable development. His work involves site investigations, construction observation, data analysis, engineering calculations, technical report preparation, and coordination of design drawings. Some of his notable efforts include stability and seepage evaluations as well as seismic deformation analyses for an embankment dam seismic retrofit project in California.
Away from the world of geotechnical engineering, Juan enjoys exploring the city, hiking, traveling, and meeting new people.
