With over 20 years of experience, Kula has led large geotechnical projects including pond closures, dewatering, and stability evaluations. He has served as an engineer-of-record and project manager on efforts across the Carolinas and is active in business development for the power, solid waste, and industrial sectors. His technical Ãë²¥ includes seismic response, landfill design, and sediment capping.
As a geotechnical practice leader and principal geotechnical engineer, he helps to interpret certain technical aspects of the U.S Environmental Protection Agency¡¯s Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) Rules. He collaborates with multidisciplinary teams on CCR impoundment closures and beneficial reuse projects, providing litigation support and other services.
When he isn¡¯t busy with geotechnical efforts, Kula enjoys traveling to explore new places, reading and occasionally playing or watching a cricket match.
