John is a senior professional bridge engineer with more than 30 years of experience in engineering design and project management for various bridge projects across North America, the UK, and China. He specializes in solving complex bridge challenges with engineering solutions, focusing on structural and seismic design for highway, rail, and pedestrian bridges. He has also worked on related infrastructure such as retaining walls, access platforms, stairways, support towers, and inspection gantries.
As the bridge team lead for our Bridge Design group, John oversees business strategy, team development, client management, and project delivery for proposals, quality assurance, and construction support. He has collaborated with multidisciplinary and specialist consultants on projects over C$2 billion, with experience in both traditional and public private partnership (P3) contracts.
Away from bridges, John enjoys time with his family, watching movies, baking, playing video games, and cycling. He¡¯s been an avid golfer, tennis player, and runner but now keeps fit with weight training and mountain biking¡ªand dealing with the various injuries he acquires from both activities.
