Growing up, Dave worked at his parent's construction business providing excavation services for in-ground and above-ground pools, foundations for houses, parking lots, and driveways. Different ways to approach each project presented him with opportunities solve issues on-site. The site transformations were remarkable, and he became enamored with civil engineering.
Dave¡¯s work now focuses on planning and design projects. Recently, he has been instrumental in managing major roadway projects for the Illinois Department of Transportation and the Illinois Tollway. He¡¯s responsible for staffing projects, scheduling workloads through project plans, pursuing project opportunities, keeping project financials appropriate, and reviewing project deliverables.
When he isn¡¯t solving transportation challenges, Dave likes to go on fishing vacations with family and friends on Wisconsin¡¯s Wolf River, catching northern pike, walleye, white bass, and perch.
