Donald Ryan

Environmental Scientist

Photo of Donald

Donald approaches his projects with compassion, curiosity, and creativity when mapping out water treatment solutions, digging into data analysis, and assisting with master planning efforts. Using his applied research background, he considers the chemistry that underscores water treatment processes to recommend comprehensive and holistic solutions. He applies this to preliminary design and source water evaluations, water supply planning, water treatment train recommendations, and pilot testing for a range of contaminants in drinking water and water reuse applications.

An active volunteer in the American Water Works Association, Donald currently serves as the vice chair for the Organic Contaminants Committee. He also authored a number of peer reviewed studies during his doctoral research. Many are featured in esteemed journals and focus on emerging water treatment technologies for PFAS, disinfection byproducts, and pharmaceuticals and personal care products.

When he isn¡¯t keeping an eye on water treatment innovations, Donald enjoys going to concerts, crafting random art projects, going on very long walks, and keeping up with indie pop tunes.
