Michaela Swain

Civil Engineer in Training

Photo of Michaela

Working with our Mining, Minerals, and Metals group, Michaela is helping reshape the future of mine closure and mine reclamation. Her work focuses on transforming legacy sites into safe, functional spaces¡ªlike the Pikeview Quarry in Colorado Springs, where she led stabilization efforts that delivered significant cost savings for the client.

Michaela thrives on solving complex engineering challenges with practical, community-driven solutions. She¡¯s passionate about reclamation because it blends technical rigor with environmental stewardship, and she values the mentorship and collaboration that fuel her growth. Whether she¡¯s designing erosion control systems or navigating steep terrain on-site, she brings precision and purpose to every project.

When she¡¯s not working to bring mine closure solutions to life, Michaela recharges by mountain biking and hiking in the Colorado mountains¡ªoften on trails near the very sites she helps restore.
