Chengyan has five years of experience in the fields of water resources management and water and sanitation. She specializes in developing long-term infrastructure investment strategy as well as risk and resilience planning for municipalities and state government, particularly in the context of climate change, social, and economic uncertainties. She¡¯s also worked on fecal sludge and septage management and treatment in low- and middle-income countries.?
When collaborating with local and state government, multi-lateral development agencies, and private foundations, Chengyan understands and brings international perspectives the US, Australia, China, Indonesia, Rwanda, Kenya, and Mozambique.?
She¡¯s presented and published her work at various national and international conferences and in peer reviewed journals. She was a guest lecturer for the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education (formerly UNESCO-IHE) and a featured speaker at the American Water Works Association annual conference, the American Water Resources Association annual conference, and the International Water Association¡¯s climate change special topic conference.
