A chartered structural engineer, Martin leads the UK Building¡¯s team. His key interests? Efficient structure design, advanced building analysis, and sustainable design. He¡¯s highly experienced in the project control of structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering designs for building developments, and he has client-side project management experience in high-profile buildings such as the Foster & Partners award-winning McLaren Technology Centre, UK.
Martin leads the industry as partner to the University Technical College Reading, nationally rated as ¡°outstanding.¡± He sits on the college¡¯s board of governors, advising on curriculum, and helps to coordinate apprenticeship and project experience for students. He¡¯s vice chair of The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Learning Construction Route Panel and a former chairman of the IStructE Thames Region Committee.
At home, Martin is able to share his passion for educational development with his wife, who is a teacher. And these days, when he isn¡¯t in the office, you¡¯ll probably find Martin working on the renovation and extension of his house.
