Utilities
Making smarter utility connections
With extensive experience providing utility consultancy services to private and public sector clients across the United Kingdom, our offering covers electricity, telecommunications, gas, potable water supply, and wastewater.
Our specialist teams provide end-to-end utility solutions from site acquisition through to masterplanning and the development of utility strategies, including the procurement and project management of utility infrastructure provision. We assess the proximity and accessibility of the existing utility infrastructure networks, verify available network capacity and points of connection, and quantify reinforcement and diversion requirements.
Working with you through all stages of development and planning, our team can also provide strategic advice on the negotiation and agreement of wayleaves and easements. We support our clients in their engagement with distribution network operators (DNOs), independent DNOs, and new appointments and variations (NAVs). We also advise on selecting and appointing independent utility network providers to create efficient, compliant, and cost-effective utility networks.
We¡¯re committed to providing reliable, cost-effective utility networks that achieve sustainability and socio-economic goals for developers and end users.
Preparing utility solutions for an all-electric future
Our utility consultants help both developers and tenants overcome grid capacity constraints and achieve net-zero outcomes by modelling energy demand and analysing cost/benefit opportunities for clients to invest in behind-the-meter renewable and storage solutions. We account for electric vehicle charging strategies and consider the potential to create microgrids that manage power demands when they are needed. Our aim? To meet environment, social, and governance goals, reduce grid reinforcement costs, and lower energy prices.Andy Davies, Director, Utilities
